
Liverpool defender Brad Smith is heading back to the UK from the pre-season tour of America to finalise a £6million transfer to Bournemouth.
The 22-year-old full-back has agreed terms with the Cherries and is set to undergo a medical on Tuesday.
Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp remains in the market for a new left-back but has given up on signing Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell who has agreed terms on a new 5-year contract with the Champions.
Liverpool have also looked at German midfielder Max Meyer but Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel claims he isn’t available having described reports that he was Anfield bound as “nonsense”.
PSV’s Jetro Willems (22, pictured above) has emerged with KOPTALK sources reporting that the player is keen on the idea of a move to Anfield. At the time of writing there has been no formal offer from Liverpool but we understand talks are underway to see if a deal could be brokered.
Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has completed his £13million move to Stoke City.
