Benitez and Rodgers linked with Newcastle job

Newspaper reports claim that former Liverpool managers Rafael Benitez and Brendan Rodgers are both in the running for the Newcastle job even though there isn’t a vacancy [yet].

There are suggestions that Magpies boss Steve McClaren could be sacked this week following their 3-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth which left them second-bottom of the Premier League table.

It is claimed that Newcastle are putting out feelers to see who may be interested in the position should they decide to wield the axe.

Both men are out of work and you would imagine that both of them would consider the opportunity to return to management in the Premier League.
