Alex Teixeira Liverpool transfer bid – LATEST

Alex Teixeira wants to sign for Liverpool, claim reports this evening.

Sky Sports News report that their sources have informed them that the 26-year-old is keen on the idea of a move to Anfield and this has naturally sparked various reports of a similar nature. Subsequently, many Liverpool supporters now feel that there has been some progress over the weekend and they’re starting to get a bit giddy. However, we would advise caution.

Shakhtar Donetsk rejected Liverpool’s initial £24.5million offer. They are willing to do business but they are obviously trying to squeeze as much out of Liverpool as possible. They want closer to £38m and at the time of writing, KOPTALK sources claim that both clubs are nowhere near a compromise although negotiations are ongoing.

On Friday, we wrote: ‘KOPTALK sources have indicated that Teixeira is up for a move to Anfield and that personal terms have allegedly already been agreed via his agent’, therefore we already knew that the player was up for a move to Anfield. Also we wouldn’t table a formal bid if his willingness hadn’t been determined already by Liverpool officials. As a result, we don’t believe there’s anything to be excited about this evening.

It will of course help if Teixeira applies pressure but nothing is going to happen unless both clubs agree a fee. It’s as simple as that. You only have to look back at the failed Yevhen Konoplyanka transfer to remind yourself that the key players in all of this are the selling clubs and rightly so.
