Alan Shearer: Liverpool have “a right good chance”

Alan Shearer believes Liverpool can be considered Premier League title contenders, especially if the Reds tighten up at the back.

The former Newcastle and England hitman thinks the lack of European football might be a blessing in disguise for Jürgen Klopp’s men and he sees no reason why we can’t be up there with the likes of Manchester City.

Shearer said: “I think they’ll have a right good chance of being in there and in the mix for the Premier League. I also think having no European football will help them.

“Liverpool certainly have the strength going forward but I think they will concede goals, especially from set pieces. I’m sure thats something they are working on.

“They are in with a shout but so they should be.”
