Ahmed Musa linked with Liverpool

Ahmed Musa

Very speculative reports today claim that Liverpool are interested in signing Nigeria international Ahmed Musa.

The 23-year-old CSKA Moscow forward is said to be the subject of ongoing interest from Leicester City while Manchester United and Everton have also been linked.

Leicester City have reportedly has a £15million transfer bid rejected with CSKA said to be holding out for £19m. But with transfer deadline-day fast approaching, a move to England this month is starting to look unlikely, a view shared by his agent Tony Harris.

“There is little time left in the transfer window,” said Harris.

“We are waiting for developments. Sometimes the situation is changing in the last few hours. But Ahmed will most likely remain in Moscow.

“Playing in England is tempting for each player, and Musa is no exception. He would willingly go there. But it is necessary for his club to agree to the proposed terms.

“However, there is no urgency. Ahmed is happy in Moscow. But if there is a suitable offer, he would certainly consider it.

“I can only say that the interest is from a number of clubs, not just Leicester. Once a proposal is acceptable to all parties, we will consider it.

Capped 56 times by Nigeria, Musa is a product of the GBS Football Academy.

A look back through our archives show that Liverpool scouts checked him out back in 2011 when he was with VVV Venlo.
