Not sure whether Comolli is the man we will have to wait and see. But in theory such a role does have a logic to it. You have a continuity of strategy when a manager leaves you don't have to change the playing squad to meet the new fellas ideas. But I did say in theory.

I remember when Rafa identified a player almost all the big EPL clubs would go after the same player. The again, I don't think anybody would be as bad as Roy in spotting talent. Comolli would be a step up compared to Roy. Then again, only a manager should decide who he wants as part of his plans, that's why I think we are [oops]. Roy needs to go.

Comolli isnt the issue, his job is. We now have a director of football regardless of who our manager is, its the new owners idea. Whether other teams have them or not is irrelevant. Why should we copy other teams?
