give him 40 million so he could afford to buy known quality?? you mean like spending 20 million a piece on Keane, Aqualani, Mascherano and Johnson, well yes he really does have a good track record on spending big money does'nt he all proven quality there, and when Johnson goes and Aqualani at Juve is made permanent none of the above will be even at the Club, shows how good this toxic monster's judgement on a player really is... Funny you mention that i dont remember Rafa crying to the journo scum that keane was not his signing but parrys, gave him plenty of chances and it didnt work out, unlike roy who couldnt wait to deflect the blame on cecil over cole and protect his 35 years of sh1t ego.
maybe the fat Spanish waiter as he has been called on here before never had as much to complain about as Hodgson because the Spaniard was left a better team from Houllier than Hodgson was left by him.

We've covered this ground before, Reclaim, and Rafa inherited a squad of at least comparable value, with the exception of Reina and Torres. In order to strengthen this squad Roy bought Poulsen and Konchesky; the worst midfielder to wear the shirt, and a contender with Traore as worse ever player for LFC.

A while ago, I posted that even Jose wouldn't have got us better results.
Rafa was on good terms with the owners when we came 2nd. So much has happened during the Hicks & Gillet reign, and i am sure Rafa has not revealed it all, that NO manager would have gotten us a good table ranking under this regime.
Getting 2nd was a damn good achievement. I just know that if he has the backing of the owners, Rafa will do well for us. History has shown that if the owners and Rafa are not on the same page, it will go tits up.
So please, everyone - before you slag Rafa, understand his working conditions.
I for one would only want him back if the owners can work with him and offer their full support. Because I believe he is an excellent manager who just needs the correct environment to succeed.
We all say he lost the dressing room - well i think its obvious those same players are no different today. Rafa didn't lose the dressing room - the overpaid players just lost the passion.
So before anyone slags him off for getting us in 7th place - think which manager would have gotten us better under Hicks & Gillet? Numerous managers would have been able to work with that squad and got us higher in the league. Our position came down to tactics, Substitutions, playing players out of position, lack of attacking idea's and of course starting lineups. It wasn't that long ago when everybody was agreeing the effect of H&G on the club, the management, the fans and also the team. Coming 7th was soley down to Rafa? Come on! Do you really think the team and the management were blind to all the off field struggles and 'club up for sale' malarky? I believe most managers would have walked if they saw this happening. Look at newcastle when their club was up for sale....what happened to the team performance? what was their league position?

roy has never had the budget wafa has had..give roy the same money as wafa wasted at this club and he will put together a real team ,not a rotating door for journey men that wafa put together. The owners don't trust Roy with the money so thats why Commoli has been brought to find the right players.

The owners don't trust Roy with the money so thats why Commoli has been brought to find the right players. I'd like, for old times sake, for you emp to go back and check how much money H&G invested in the squad after their first season in charge. "Investment" means "money they added to the transfer pool", not money Rafa was able to spend because he sold other players in the squad. You grasp of English, economics, or both is impaired if you think "budget" only accounts for money spent. I think you will find (not that I believe you will do this exercise, nor that you even read this post) he got no more than Roy did, and you will also find that at the start of his final, pivotal season his transfer budget was negative (they gave him nothing, and took at least a part of the money from the sale of Alonso). So shut up about this "Roy got less money" cr*p because it's false; "false" as in: "not true, a lie". Roy got at least the same money, and did no better than Rafa - Poulsen and Konchesky rate up there with Dossena in the putrid stakes - so your point about Rafa's failures is invalid when you try to compare him with Roy. "Invalid" as in: "not true, a lie". Try (if you can) not to forget that Konchesky did not just cost roughly the same amount of money as the (far better) player Fulham replaced him with, but ALSO two young strikers (and let's not forget that you are among those who harp on about needing strikers). You can't have it both ways - it's interesting how those who support Roy clearly have double standards, led by you who has the gall to call those objective enough to judge a manager on his performance as lacking in intelligence. You are not "righteous"; you are prejudiced.

i got so far then your stupidity turned my stomach so I had to stop. your saying something about roy spending the same as wafa. that's just about the thickest thing i have read and doesn't even deserve discussion but just to look at a few positions left back roy spent 4.5m koncheskey wafa spent 8m on the fat runt.midfield roy spent 4.5 on poulsen wafa spent 18m on fart face monster or 18m on aquabroken, centre half roy spent nothing wafa spent 8m on skittles, striker wafa spent 25m on torres roy spent zero, wings babel, pennant, reira take your pick of big money failures, roy spent nothing. Both have had negative transfer ,but that reflects well on roy not wafa, roy started negative and inherited this crap from wafa, wafa had already proven he was a waster with money. so just relax, you know feck all about football but roy will educate you. Stop talking about turning stomaches. That's wat all of us have to live with all the time, reading Your bollox! Leave it and skate on! Why are You saying Roy and Wafa? It should be Woy and Wafa!

Actually Roy had positive transfer - he recouped more from the sale of Mascherano, Reira, and Benayoun than he spent. But no need to split hairs over a disagreement regarding the printed facts, now is there? You prefer to turn a blind eye in the face of raw truth that invalidates any statement on the topic. As the Christians say (it being Christmas and all), "Take the plank out your eye before trying to pull the splinter from mine". That lie actually makes more sense than the rest of your argument, however. You appear to have forgotten that Rafa was at LFC for 6 seasons (that's roughly 11 transfer windows more than Roy has had). Not only is it obvious that Rafa will have bought some overpriced lemons in that time (EVERY SINGLE MANAGER IN THE WORLD HAS DONE SO), it is also OBVIOUS Roy hasn't spent money on every position. You talk of stomach-turning logic, and then produce more spew-inducing sh*t than a sewage farm. If Rafa hadn't spent 25m on Torres and Roy then zero you do realize we would have no striker. You and reality are not on the same page. I know it's pointless to say this because you're so far up your own arse you can't hear the truth and would run away from it if you could, but Torres has sold more LFC shirts than any other player since he was signed in EVERY single season. He also broke pretty much every club record in his time here, and set an EPL scoring record for foreigners that still stands. 25m well spent! If you believe that Roy not needing to spend money on a striker because we have Torres is a credit to Roy and a discredit to Rafa then you're f*cking retarded. If you're going to include all of Rafa's bad buys but only stack them against Roy's good ones, of which Meireles is the only one seeing as how Roy disowned Cole during the week and the rest are sh*t, then you'll still come up short. Why did we buy Jones? "Needed a home grown player". Pacheco is "home grown". But Pacheco is not older than 21! We don't have 25 players in the squad older than 21. ROY SPENT MONEY ON A PLAYER HE NEVER INTENDS TO USE. If that is not more wasteful than any of Rafa's bad buys, especially when one considers how wretched Poulsen and Konchesky are (supposedly our saviours at DM and LB, when Carol K or even Susan Boyle could probably do a better job than both of them combined), then you know your prejudiced opinion is worthless. You know nothing, and things you might know are twisted by your hatred of Rafa. There's no point arguing with you because (metaphorically) you'll just wave Charirman Mao's little red book and sing "The East is Red" until the rest of us pause for breath, and then you'll start talking cr*p again.

your mental i think, you ask and then answer your own questions. just stop being a dummy its not rocket science. wafa built crap and spent loads doing so,roy has taken over his crap and hasn't spent anything doing so. how many 2nd choice keepers has wafa bought 200? carson how much? yet you try to score points off roy buying a reserve keeper. sums you up-pathetic That must explain why we have so many keepers we can sell, then. The "loads" Rafa spent was mostly money from Moores during the seasons when we won useful things like the CL. After that the money he spent was entirely from selling his players - if you have a choice between a world class LB at 30m or Dossena at 8m, but only have 8m, you would also have bought Dossena. You're right; it's not rocket science. Problem is, you haven't worked out how to make fire.
