im not for one second trying to suggest that the scandinavian leagues are as good and prestigious as the english league etc. at this day there's miles between them.

but to put it into perspective, there was a time (the time when roy were in sweden) when swedish teams reached european cup finals and won uefa cup finals. even in the mid 90's there were some success when gothenburg constantly participated in cl and won their cl group ahead of barcelona and man u.

the last 10-15 years has been a different story though

no seriously, he wasn't. my point though was that the league was much more competitive compared to what it is today.

I remember the days when Scandanavian sides were dark horses at the World Cup; always making a nuisance of themselves in the knock-out stages. Been a long time since then though.

Denmark won the European Championships 1992 and finished 3:rd in 1984, Sweden finished 3:rd in World Cup 1994 and in the European Championships 1992! But as You said; It's a long time ago now!

If NESV have any sense whatsoever, they should get Boas tied up as Liverpool manager right now for the start of the new season. Get the deal done right now because this guy is going to be special. Has worked with Bobby Robson and Mourinho, and had his Uefa licence since the age of 17 and is the only manager unbeaten in Europe right now. This guy is the future. But no doubt Liverpool will as we've always done and not act fast enough, or act at all. We'll wait till the end of the season when it will be too late, and another club will snap him up. Fcuking depressing knowing he's out there and we still have this old dinosaur who's utterly out of his depth on so many many levels....:/

We want to be the best again, we need a manager who will be the best. This guy will be the best, mark my words.
