there's a huge difference in the old type liverpool fan like myself, and some others, and the majority of newcastle type fans, like yourself, who are embarrassing the club. its called perspective, even intelligence if you will. you don't possess it unfortunately ,and it would seem a lot of our fans are the same.
perspective allows a person to see something objectively and frees one from the type of attitude you have, who know the impatient black or white narrow minded stupid attitude that replaces managers before they have barely even began. i agree with what you're saying to some extent because i'm pretty sure rafa's methods are hugely different to roy's ideas on the training ground. obscure tactics like zonal marking etc. it was always going to take time to get us playing. but usually when a new manager comes in the team start playing to impress him. that still hasn't happened. look at spurs a few years ago, sacked jol then sacked ramos and look how far redknapp has took them. so you could call him a newcastle type fan or a spurs type fan... theres 2 sides to the argument. he shares the same opinion with about 80% of other liverpool fans. so what ever type of fan you want to call yourself it seems you are the minority. either way though emp i think deep down you know that roy hodgson is not the long term answer as manager of liverpool football. he can do a job for us while we rebuild, but he won't be here for long. every liverpool manager since shanks has delivered a trophy, i can't see us winning one under roy's reign and that puts a tremendous amount of pressure on him. although we haven't won the league in a long time we have still had a lot of success in competitions and not seeing us perform well in any of them is not something we are used to.

well harry redknapp is a fantastic manager but he walked into a squad with fantastic players. if he took over us tomorrow we would still be a team with 1 striker,no wingers and center half problems. roy needs time and money to sort these problems out. its insane the stick he is getting , totally insane. the team is playing pretty darn well at home because roy has us playing as a unit ,something this club hasn't seen since roy evans day.we are vulnerable away from home cause roy sticks to his principles and doesn't try to murder the game .better quality players in the transfer market will sort the away form out. I do think roy can lead us for many years,i am impressed with him especially considering the insanity and abuse he is faced with. as for us being used to doing well- last season we were worse than pathetic in all competitions -and we will prob win the europa this season. What roy inherited was the squad that nearly won the league, minus two players. He needed to address a couple of positions, thats all.

Harry would give his right arm for `rafa's record. He's said as much. Anfield is becoming a circus and one or two clowns are already showing up to welcome the change.

Intelligence? So those who disagree with you, who I might add are the vast majority of contributors to this site, as well as those fans chanting Kenny's name among others, are all bereft of intelligence? Dunc, too, does not possess this attribute? If anyone is failing to show perspective it is yourself. You, sir, go too far. I asked you to show me how Roy has improved the club, and you reply by insulting me. You aren't prepared to look at the quality Roy has brought to the club (which is none). You're only interested in having him see out his contract at any cost. If you're such a good supporter, someone who believes just any guy will keep the club in the top 6 where it belongs, then fair enough; live in your dream world. But that does not give you the right to insult myself or other users of this forum simply because we have a different opinion, one that requires the manager to perform to some standard other than simply arriving at work each day.

I simply hate passive-aggressive behaviour. He's run out of ways to explain his position, so now he has resorted to insulting anyone who opposes him. If he has nothing to add he would be better off keeping his mouth shut. My challenge still stands: show me how we've improved and I'll happily accept that Roy has brought something positive to LFC, perhaps admit that there is some element of truth that something is being built towards. But if the only "proof" he can present is an immature "I'm a better person than you", then he can f*ck off because he clearly doesn't have a leg to stand on. I have better things to do with my time than respond to the insults of 12-year-olds.
On the Boas topic, as I've said, he seems like a good manager, plays positive football and gets the results deserving of it. But it would be premature to say he's world class based on success in the Portuguese league. We have to start somewhere though, and if we're looking to bring in an up-and-coming young manager looking to make a name for himself then I don't think we can go too far wrong with taking him on. The fact that he clearly has a passion for the game and is driven towards success immediately makes him a better option than the current manager, who is content to finish 10th because he thinks he can't do better (and therefore he can't).

The only reason we've done well at home is because of the sub standard oppostion we've faced.
The 2nd half against Chelsea they were by far the better team.

just as I thought, you think liverpool play expansive football (or attemept to) the only thing that is expansive is the mind expanding drugs you take. ALthough of course you need a mind to begin with in order to be able to expand it!

Your the one who constantly brings our ex manager into everything?!
I'm just stating a point which is very valid.
We havent played anybody of a decent standard apart from Chelsea who with a bit more luck should have left with a point.
Lets wait until we've played better oppostion at Anfield until we see how Hodgson is utlimately doing.
