the owners i dont think are here to win leagues, they have bought the club as an investment, they wont throw money at it if they can still get what money they want from it without having to do so. Liverpool can still make the same money from merchandise around the world by finishing fifth as they would winning the league the Americans knew this and it's why they bought the club. We all know what they said when they took over but they were hardly going to say anything else, what the owners want and want the fans want are two entirely different things, time will show this. Liverpool are not in the same realms as a club like United am afraid they are entirely on a different level to us both on and off the pitch, along with Real Madrid and Barca they are the giants of the game.

Reclaim, new owner and new plan. Everything NESV say has incremental value at it's heart. If a player, manager, specialist is not bringing an improvement he's under the microscope.

As head of the playing operation Roy Hodgson has to prove he's bringing the team performances forward (I'm sure that'll be a weighted judgement - how much bang for buck is he getting out of players and budget).

In our own way the fans intuitively do the same - if Hodgson had shown general competence rather than ceding space and possession he wouldn't be getting anything like the stick he is. He's got the players as a muddled as he is: a contributing factor to Benitez's removal. They're playing worse than they were for the previous SACKED incumbent.

He's got very little proof of adding-value and little/none goodwill from his 'customers' (us). He's (rightly) in the cross-hairs and will removed, the issue is when. Right now it's all about him and NESV are not copping any flack, when they do they'll probably act. I'd expect him to get a budget in January but not one that will bring in real quality and then be gone in May.

I think the last thing the new owners want is a new manager who will demand all sorts of money to buy players with, one of the reasons they are quite happy with Roy is that he can work on a small budget, get the most out of players with limited ability and is a safe appointment who wont rock the boat and cause controversy. I think Roy will be given a little money in January and more in the Summer with sales added to that.

I think with the current manager we will go forward, but given his style of management and my view the owners wont be spending big I think the whole process will take alot longer than most fans will allow. The Club is not the same Club anymore so fans need to start cutting there cloth accordingly and start lowering there outrageous expectation levels, until we do this we will start going through managers to the extent of City in the 80's Everton in the 90's and Newcastle on 2000's, these fans all had ideas of grandeau and thought they were better clubs than they actualy were.
