Reports from Spain tonight are emerging that Liverpool FC are preparing a £35 million pound offer for David Villa if the proposed sale of Xabi Alonso goes through as expected in the next few days.

It is widely known that Liverpool boss Benetiz is a keen admirer of the talented hitman and with Real Madrid ruling themselves out of the race recently it looks likely that Villa could be on his way to England if the clubs can agree a fee and off course the players wages.

i can confirm this is true. but we face competetion from no other than Man united.ferguscum is convinced he can persuade villa to move to OT.but im sure if it came down to it he would choose us over manutd no probs.ive also heard rumours that fergie wants silva as well.the old whiskey man should get his own targets rather than try to get rafas .

He has stated that if he ever moved to England it would be to Liverpool. But at the same time he said he was staying in Spain so not sure on this one.

I still think this is to keep the hounds at bay! Would love to see him here :-)

i have actually heard this same story from someone very close to stevie g that was told by him ...... close enough to have the same surname and grandparents

35 Million is not enough. Rafa has stated he is not in his plans. I would be very excited if we do go for him, but I really think its a false rumour.
