but anyway, arbeloa was a quality player for us i totally agree. he could play anywhere across the back four and was always consistent. we only payed £2.5m for him i think, one of rafa's best signings. i'd swap him for johnson in a heartbeat

have a look at his liverpool career. Not many poor performances. In fact funnily enough that was the year we pushed for the title. He is a quality defender and showed his class AGAIN last night. We sold him for what 5 mil and then spent 18 on Johnson?! I know what i would prefer.

bs, hardly the place you would start if you were trying to reduce the wage bill is it. players like babel and jovanovic must be on at least 5 times the wage he is on and they hardly contribute to the side. for a promising youngster like dani it would be far more practical to loan him out than to sell him. i'm pretty sure there would be a few spanish clubs willing to pay his wages and give him a game every other week.

john mcmahon has already said they want to play him in a wide role in the reserves this season so he can learn the position that he would most likely feature in for the first team. not a bad idea imo. daniel pacheco seems to be a touchy subject for most fans but i reckon they (hodgson/mcmahon) just want whats best for the player.

i know its the independent but, it just sounds like utter [oops] to me
