I don't think Rafa should be brought back. I respect what he achieved, but also realise he was flawed many times too. Some of the players who stopped playing for him are still at the club, so it would be pointless to bring him back anyway.
I think we need someone who is better than Rafa. There's not that many of them, but there are enough for us to find one. Agreed. Rafa had his time, brought us some glory, but ultimately failed the current squad. Bringing him back into that is bad for everyone. He should sell his house in Liverpool. What we need is someone who understands that Liverpool is one of, if not THE best club in Europe, and needs to play football fitting to that billing. That means going out there to win simply because there is no club we should be afraid to attack. I don't mind losing over two legs to Real Madrid as long as we gave a good account of ourselves and were proven good enough to deserve to be playing them, and I think that goes for most LFC supporters. But to achieve that requires an ambitious manager, someone driven towards success, and I dare anyone to say that these are qualities the current manager has. I can't say who fits the role, whether it's Kenny, Rijkaard, Villas Boas, or even Growler with his baseball bat at Melwood. But I can say that we will not progress as we are, at least not progress in a way deserving of this great club.

Probably all walk out in protest like, but they WOULD know who the boss is.

again the time thing is important here. Our current manager took over a very limited squad, that was on a sharp slide, we no longer compete with the elite in europe. He has had little money to improve the squad ,so he has had to work with what he has got. How can you even talk of playing real madrid and being a great football club when he is building from the bottom. Its just not fair on the man, it can take months just to get the team playing they way he wants it to. After Jan when he has signed his centre forward and maybe a proper attacker ,we will be on the up and up But he wasn't building from the bottom - he was building from 7th, a lofty position he's yet to reach. We also don't need a center forward - we need a winger. But that's irrelevant because we don't need more attackers if we're going to continue to put 10 men behind the ball for our "Plan A without a plan B" basic approach. We most certainly do not need Carlton Cole in any scenario. The point I was making is that this is not a club that should be looking up to any other, even though we're not in the Champions' League. Not Real Madrid, not Manchester United, and most certainly not Everton or Blackpool or any other team that has been called good by our manager. Did Shankley call Everton "Utopia"? His words were far more derogatory than those. I seem to recall him having talked up the opposition prior to a European final, highlighting all their strengths during the team talk, and then said, "But they're not better than Liverpool". That's the kind of manager we need, not some guy who doddles along paying no heed to which job he's in.

well when rafa hits rock bottom he can still take a step down and replace that mad old guy who is currently destroying the team and manage our team cos we are much worse off in terms of future than inter with our present manager,

A team that finished 7th, that were semi-finalists in the europa league. A team that had one of the best in the world up front (torres), one of the best attacking midfielders (Gerrard), one of the best goalies (reina), one of the best defensive midfielders (Masch) in the world. How many teams can boast that quality. Teams like Tottenham certainly can't. THen Hodgson also had several established internationals, like Kuyt, Maxi Rodriguez, Johnson, and a few other talented players like Aquilani who seems to be doing just fine in Italy, and Carra etc. He also had some promising youngsters in Kelly and Pacheco. 4 of the best players in the world in their positions, another 3-4 established internationals, and some experienced or promising youngsters. Only Man U or Chelsea could claim as much. So stop trying to pull the wool over people's eyes. Hodgson was left with a very strong squad., and nowhere near 'building from the bottom' EXFUCCKINGACTLY

Its funny you bring up the point of masch going on strike!
If i remember did carra not do the same at boro? refused to play rite back?
Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless, who strove and worried so that others could share the glory, and who built up a family of people who could hold their heads up high and say
'We're Liverpool'.

Name a few better than masch? and i bet you look a fool, i don't like how he left no doubt but the guy is world class full stop.
Everyone has there down fall's in management and football career, its the circle of life.
Lets have a look at his career:
Valencia, two times champions of spain, UEFA cup, back to back champions league final 2000/2001
Liverpool, (first season)Carling cup final, champions league (Benítez became only the third manager, after Bob Paisley and Mourinho, to win the UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions League in successive seasons, and the second Liverpool manager (after Joe Fagan) to win the European Cup/UEFA Champions League in his first season in charge)
(second season)3 place prem missing out on 2 by 1 point, plus fa cup (Benítez became the only manager in the history of Liverpool Football Club to win major trophies in both of his first two seasons at the club.)
(third season) very poor by his and are standards 3 place finish and another champions league final plus charity shield at start of season 2-1 over Chelsea
(fourth season) Very poor again 4 place finish
(fifth season) finished second, Best finish under rafa, also highest points tally from any manager in last 20 years.
(six season) finished 7 worst season under him end of era.
Not too sure why people don't seem to see the good he did for the club i could also name number other records that he achieved, but lets leave it at this.
He is the past, leave the man be hating on him every other day won't change anything other than making you look bad, specially when you try to compare him to roy which is joke.
To sum it up one of rafa season is better than roy whole career, which if rafa is on his way down roy has been for 35 years yet some see him as second coming!!
Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless, who strove and worried so that others could share the glory, and who built up a family of people who could hold their heads up high and say
'We're Liverpool'.
