Other teams are trying very hard and putting so much effort into their youth system, however our one is just crap to say the least. Look at the examples of Spurs, United, Arsenal and Barca, one of the main reason why they remain sucessful for long

Getting talented youth through is one thing, a manager actually giving them a chance is another.

We should have kept Adam Hammill, and should have kept Stephen Warnock too instead of blowing 7 million on Dossena, there was no point spending that cash. There's two examples straight away.

There's been players good enough, and it's either been completely ignored and loaned out and/or simply sold off.

Spurs have hardly had a production belt of talent!

West Ham for the best part of 15 years have produced some of the best talent England has seen.

I think he means producing talent rather than buying it. Only Kelly of the above list you mentioned was produced by us. The rest were bought. I think what he means is that there should be a greater array of local talent coming though.

To be honest lads who the fook wants too come too a team that, is strugling and has a shyt coach who is making our club a laughing stock through out the footballing world. Until we change the man at the helm for an inspirational world class coach, we are not going to be able to attract Sunday league players!, Also can bring in a good back room and has good scouts all over the world.

The academy needs time. It was a total shambles before, but now its heading in the right direction again. Quality footballers don't grow on trees lining the Mersey, so just let them continue their work. Already we have a talented set of young players, yes, many not from Liverpool itself, but that's the first step isn't it? Bring the talent in to show the local boys what they can achieve with effort and perseverance.

we can always buy hammill back for the price we sold him for anyway - hopefully the intention is to just make it an extended loan period and we will dive in and grab him soon
