Let's look at that again.
Insua shipped because Roy was happy to have no player over 21 who is a seasoned LB and is not a sick-note.
Aquilani shipped because we couldn't afford his pay-to-play clause prior to the sale of the club
Cole - how many goals and assists in the premier league so far for Liverpool?
Meireles - good player, will improve as well
Konchesky - below average EPL player, Fulham took us to the cleaners for him as well
Poulsen - not good enough for Everton, the 3rd best club in Liverpool

Let's talk about those before we start wondering whether there is actually any merit in the argument that this is all the fault of Benitez.

Roy doesn't have a chance of connecting with the fans because he doesn't have the right attitude for a Liverpool manager, which is to go out and at least try to win every game. This too has nothing to do with Benitez, except maybe that LFC supporters became used to the club being a force once more and are now watching in horror as we are thrown to the dogs each week by a manager who can't see that his tactics are wrong and wouldn't change them if he could.

The longer the season continues the less your anti-Benitez sentiments carry weight (not that they carried any to start with).

Never been to the UK, mate - I'm South African. If I did though, the first place I would go would be Anfield.

I started supporting Liverpool in the mid 80s, for two reasons.
a) Bruce Grobbelaar. Although he's Zimbabwean, South Africa was in the process of being condemned by the entire world for apartheid, and rightly so, but it meant our athletes couldn't perform on the world stage. Most of us sports fans therefore supported Zim athletes because they were closest to home, and for most of their existence have been more our country's brother than our neighbour. Although a South African would later play for Man U (Gary Bailey) I could never support the scum.
b) John Barnes. Watching him play was just magical; I was always disappointed when he was injured. I didn't like Ian Rush though - he just put the ball in the net, and didn't seem to have to work for anything but got all the glory somehow. lol

Yes, it didn't hurt that LFC was pretty much the best team around during my teen years, and I guess with hindsight it's easy to say I supported a winning side, but if that was true then why do I continue to support LFC now? Because we've always played quality football, and have always shown tremendous heart.

Here's a stat: Insua had the most assists for a full-back in 09-10.

He had loads of potential, and if he improved on his defending, he could've become a top quality player for us.
