Can't see how we could re-develope Anfield, only places we could are the main stand-add an extra tier like at Glasgow Rangers, and the anny road stand-extra tier with road going underneath. New stadium i think and im not bothered if its shared with blue [oops] , government might pay half towards it.

Redevelopment if its possible! but not sure it is, for the long term though we need a new stadium because anfield area needs to be rebuilt for the tenants, and we need a football zone to attract fans and tourists alike to bring in more money to city and club.

There is room to extend. most of the slums around the ground have gone, develop from the anfield rd end outwards. that would mean the road outside the Kop (forgot name-sorry!!) being diverted, that leaves a hell of a lot of space to play with. The problem will be the council and ultimately the government. That land is earmarked for "afordable housing". It would take alot of persuasion on the owners behalf to talk them into it.

good reply matey, your right there is a lot of housing around the area to get rid of but maybe it would be possible.

Would love it to be redeveloped because I would love to visit Anfield for a least one game in my life...hopefully sooner rather than later.

Football is all about cash now unfortunately and the only sensible way to get a lot more of it is a new stadium. I really wouldn`t fancy watching matches at Anfield for 3-4 years where one side is closed down with a bloody mural of faces on it like others have done.
Play at Anfield until the new stadium is ready and then move between seasons has gotta be the best answer.?

what is being muted is moving the pitch sideways, removing the main stand first, this way we will only lose 4000 seats as temporary extensions to the Kop and Anfield road would compensate. Problem is time, a new stadium from scratch takes 18mths, renovating takes 2yrs+ and is never quite the same with reduced attendances and a scruffy appearance throughout the process.
interestingly, a succesful world cup bid will have an influence on this.

I should think the kop end would be the problem! it all needs to be the same sort of heights to look good too.
