I dont think we are asking too much, Alonso is worth 35mil euro's. But I cant see Real Madrid raising the extra millions for him. One reason why I think Alonso will stay. But things change so quickly.

Rafa has ruled out buying Villa but then with rafa you'll never know, he can say one thing and do another. With the sale of Arbeloa and Leto, and the likely sales of Alonso and Dossena we would have more than 40m to splash. Rafa could choose either to replace Alonso with Aquilani and then bring in Silva as well, or drop down Gerrard to CM and splash the cash on Villa to partner Torres upfront.

Torres has said how much he would like to be palying alongside Villa and they are pretty good mates too! Maybe Rafa saying he's not interested is a smoke screen to keep the price down when the time comes to put in an offer for him (If Xabi goes)!! I'd love to have him here! Even though Villa has said he's happy to stay in Spain at Valencia he could be part of the game so we can get him at a good price when the funds become available!
