No better than Spearing,Plessis or Lucas. Are we seriously looking at him?

I think Cattermole is a brilliant player. Obviously he doesn't have Alonso's range of passing but he can control the centre of the pitch and his work rate to get the ball enables the attacking players in his side(eg. Antonio Valencia last season) to do the rest.

An underrated player IMO and at 21 y.o, one who would be a good buy at 12mil.

*Potentially* if Spearing becomes a regular(and Gerrard is out of a game), Rafa could put him in an advanced attacking role with Cattermole sitting behind him alongside Masch.

I think it's something on the line of every football team has to include a minimum of six ‘home grown’ players in a team at any one time, but when this comes in to force I don't know.

Good old Sepp trying to scupper the dominance of English clubs in Europe again...

A waste of money, Jay Spearing is a far better prospect as he has a better range of passing and can cover a few other positions, all he really needs is some more first team involvement for him to blossom.

Cattermole is far from brilliant and is not what we need, an offensive central midfielder and not another water carrier.

Agree R302, he's no better than Spearing and not the type of midfielder we need. If anything we need a more attack mind midfielder to play beside Masch. Alonso is a magic player but his biggest flaw was his lack of goals. If we are to push on this year and rafa is to play Gerrad behind Torres we need more goals from mid field if we are going to finally win the league and Cattermole for all his hard work won't give us that...

if you whant 2 whin the liga you must
have a player can make differnt with the team
obviosley xabi can . but now we need same as xabi not
to build one . we want the player 2 be ready and fit

I dont see that in Lee Cattermole .
but I think that aquilani "Roma player" will do just fine .
