If someone could enlighten me on the last manager who had been in the game this long and only started winning things of note after 60 years of age i would like to know who?
But Liverpool are no longer a United, Chelsea or Arsenal now are they so why is'nt a manager like Roy Hodgson good enough. Liverpool like it or not are a top five Club at best and have been for over 20 years now. The days when all the top players wanted to play for us and all the top managers wanted to manage us are well and truly gone and wont be coming back any time soon.

Them days are far from gone! If you believe roy needs to be given time then don't be so fast to judge are club.

We may not be fighting for title each season but, we are for top 4 one bad season don't make you not top 4 if you think this your seriously don't know much about football.

The down fall starts when you start to lower your standards, poulsen, roy the list can go on.

LOL are you crazy mate rafa has brought some shocking buys him self i mean dogs balls but he has got some nice gems as well,

Sadly so far for roy jury still out on raul all the rest has benn shocking i mean really bad.

There is nothing worse than start of your career at new club getting so much wrong maybe if we was playing some sexi football it could be over looked? but we are not.

One thing good or bad about rafa he could still bring big names to liverpool, and he never talked his team down as mid table team or be happy just to be out of bottom 3? fck sake this is liverpool why would roy ever say such things about such a great club.

Ask your self as torres if your own manager is talking down your clubs ability why would you stay? why would any wonder kid want to come?

Oh yes liverpool are top 5 side even though 2008-2009 we came second , with largely the same players in the squad , utter bs. No team 'deserves' to finish in the top 3 top 4 or whatever. With a team of 10 internationals you can expect not to be in the relegation zone, that is of course if you have a team which knows what it is doing

Mate if you really think any top football in the world would stay at club that is talking down there chances of being one big boys in the league then you need to put football manager down. (i can bet my life on it now, if roy had a convo with torres and said mate its going be least 2/3 season till we going for title, hopefully we will get champions league in 2 years. He would say i respect Liverpool but i am sorry i need to progress in my career i am 26 and not getting any younger) This is the same thing fab said about arsenal we need to buy for now and fight for title now, not future same thing most arsenal fans say.

In fact it was same thing Zlatan said about man city why he picked ac milan over them, city is team for future success. While this time in my career i need to win stuff now, and i see ac milan can provide that.

Why do you think fab bangs on about at arsenal? why you think henry finally left arsenal? the club who made him the club he loved.

Was cause of the manager not making the big rite choices for the club which has been proven since he has left arsenal still not one jack [oops].

Cole has been shocking for his talent he has poulsen needs to hang his boots up and konchesky is nothing more than mid table player should never have played for Liverpool.

All i know is roy don't help him self, i don't expect him to win the league but i certainly don't expect to hear talks of him being happy about JUST getting out of bottom 3

He should be extremely disappointed being there i mean loosing sleep, i mean saying sorry to the world that is sort of anger he should be showing, cause he should know we are Liverpool not fulham.

My point being is roy don't have to do the big boy talk say we going win league 100% but he needs to show confidence in his players and his own ability to assure fans players and maybe new signing we are on the up. Not on the down!!!!!!!

Nope i just want a Good manager for great club is that hard to ask for?

Nope torres will go depending on how liverpool act he still has 4 years on contract so we control his football.

Not too sure if you watch football much mate but it happens in every team if you show that you don't want to do better and improve then your best players will want to leave.

Aka owen if i rememeber he said he wanted to leave to win stuff? funny how he has not one jake [oops].

But the point is it happens in all walks of life if you like it or not if your ambitious person in life you will understand this if your not you will be happy at steady normal life for rest of your life. (world class players 9/10 are not or are just greedy)

Torres is as good as gone so forget about him, it will either be January or most likely the summer, whatever happens he's gone. I think he knows he made a mistake not leaving in the Summer and thats why he has sulked and played with a cant be arsed attitude, the disasterous world cup heb had limited his choices of Clubs he could of gone to.

Read what i said before you reply! and we all know torres said Liverpool needs improvement just go research.

Hodgson admits Liverpool's start to the campaign is unacceptable and conceded they could find themselves in a survival battle this season.

"Things are looking really, really bleak. It has been said that if you are in the bottom three, you are in a relegation fight, and I would have to go along with that," admitted Hodgson.

That is not something in my life time i have heard from Liverpool manager its scary ok admit you can read it number of ways never less relegation and Liverpool should never be same sentence.

not a great record starting off granted. but he hasn't had any real money to spend of note. net spend has to be zero or something. and we all know how lfc fans love the net spend figures.

Wrong. Roy made a profit in the transfer window, nothing significant though, and only on the back of selling two academy players to Fulham. Regardless though, "didn't have any money to spend" is usually the line abused by those who felt Rafa didn't have a fair shake of the stick, so now it's being used to defend Roy, but without apology to Rafa.

Two-faced, to say the least.

Reclaim wants Rafa and Roy to be compared under identical conditions. Well the last transfer market was identical conditions, so there's no point in making excuses for Roy now is there? Rafa had bad buys, so did Roy. Raul looks a decent player though, so I think Roy got one right. Cole is a different matter because he clearly signed for us on the back of certain promises regarding position that haven't been fulfilled. Not sure what to think about that, but either way he's not a shining light on the wing, is he?

So for me Roy and Rafa are similar in the transfer market, though Roy certainly set his sights lower in terms of targets (eg Carlton Cole). Which is why I think Commolli's appointment will be good for the club.

Roy could also learn to stop playing Poulsen now. I mean, Rafa's biggest failure was playing Lucas all the time, but now we're crying out for him to be on the pitch. Ironic, really.

Also, Roy's start has been in kinder conditions (extra Europa qualifiers against minnows rather than champions' league, northampton etc), yet his record is barely comparable, and ONLY because something happened prior to Blackburn after Reina demanded a meeting with the owners (whether his meeting was the catalyst or not is moot - it was at that time). Since then we've won 3 on the trot playing more suitable tactics, youth players have been getting chances again (after a non-appearance by any of them post-northampton) and so on. WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING ALL ALONG, in other words.

Now maybe Roy will go onto greater success, but he's a stubborn old man and one can only behave out of character for so long. We saw what he was capable of when not controlled. Struggling in the Europa group stage against teams no fit to lick our boots, 19th on goal difference after 8 EPL games, lost to northampton. THAT isn't good enough for anyone, least of all LFC. Try to maintain a sense of perspective.

Rafa was sacked for being sub-standard. Roy does not reach Rafa's grade, there really isn't any point debating this FACT any further, but he's being defended to the ends of the earth. That's what I don't understand. Rafa might not have made fans of everyone, but he did deliver, both in terms of results and silverware. Roy doesn't promise that much; his modus operandi is to lower expectations, remember? Not a fit for LFC.

Whats he making up?Probably one of the worst LFC performances against everton was greeted with roy saying"thats the best performance he has seen under his tenure"
In September Daniel Agger one of the more technically accomplished players in the squad claimed that his tendency to look to contribute to the attack from his defensive position and reluctance to clear the ball differed from Hodgson’s tactics and that Roy was omitting him from the team for this reason. Add to this, Pepe Reina’s recent disclosure that he was having to adapt to an “English” style of goalkeeping is also bewildering.
To be honest roy we will never lower our standards, you had better raise yours or theres the door.
