Who knows. A little disappointed with Alonso if its true that he has handed in a transfer request. But Im sure Rafa has a replacement lined up, maybe a 18mil bid for Barry :P

True. At least by being "forced" to hand in a written request Xabi get's no golden hand shake, so that more cash for Rafa.

Sad Xabi looks to be leaving - he's a great player and we'll miss him.

I just hoped for more loyalty from him. It's something we have come to expect or taken for granted at Liverpool - this is what hurts me the most.

He'll miss us, the fans, that's a dead cert! madrid "fans" are absolutely sh!te. I would have written "supporters" but they do not fall into this category.

why does liverpool have to suffer more with the players going
xabi alonso should not go as it will only offer his team mate
torres to follow him at real midrid in the next transfer

Torres to Read Madrid???? He`s a life-long Athletico Madrid fan & ex-player.... about as much chance as Stevie going to the Mancs! It`s pointless keeping Alonso if he is so desperate to go. He is truely world class and will be very badly missed, but if he wants to go and Real stump up the dosh then he should go.

As much as we wouldn't like to see Alonso leave hopefully there will be a Silva lining after all this is done!
Also the last time we had someone join Real we won the Champion's League, so that means with two joining we are doing the double this season!
