I think its the wrong transfer window to "realistically" think we could get any decent players. Their clubs wouldn't want to sell half way through the season and if they did, the player's value would double.

I think the "Marquee" signing will need to wait until the summer.

I think we should look long term and not take a quick fix option
that Roy will probably take as his mentality is still that of a small club manager as he is still looking at players who simply are not good enough for our club players like Poullsen,Konchesky,
e.g.
who we could sign in january is Dafur,Jansen,Affelay, and my first choice striker would be Suarez.Manure will probably sign Dafur,Hamcik,Bale,Suarez,Martinez in the summer and dominate for another decade as we cant find a manager who can see potential !.
Who we will probably sign Crouch£10m,Wright phillips£7m,Roger Johnson£9m Europa cup here we go again !.
Roy will struggle to take us higher than 8th.

Given where we currently are, how badly Roy has us playing, the poor signings he has made (meireles aside), and will make again in January, Europa Cup would be a good achievement. :-(

we need to get our arse in gear .. a good couple of sigings (ashley youngs etc) in january and hope to god we get close to the top by the end of the season or we are completely screwed.

we arent going to get suarez etc with no european football and i cant see torress staying aanother year with no europe either.

I thought we were extremely lucky to win the game, without soto we'd have lost.

We had to scrap and scrape against a team like bolton for a lucky 1-0 win, thats not encouraging to me. The football was terrible 90% of the time, two good moves and luckily one come off for us.
