Shoot the messenger if you please.

A good friend of Xabi Alonso, Juan Ugarte, who is currently at Whexham, before you ask WTF, Whexham player being friends with Xabi. They both played at Real Sociedad together.

Juan frequently comes into my restaurant and eats. I asked him about Alonso and he stated, Xabi will stay at anfield for one more season and then it more likely next year he will leave the club. BUT if Madrid come in and liverpool accept the terms, then obviously Xabi will go.

Xabi really admires the liverpool people and the fans for support, and will find it differcult to leave the club. The feeling of winning premiership with liverpool is something that he is really passionaite about.

Jusr sharing a bit of light on this crap going on regarding alonso smile

Not been confirmed he has gone for his medical. He is in Spain, as Liverpool players are having a few days off now. But if he goes, yes it is sad to see him go, but on the other hand move on and get a replacement.

When did he go for a medical? Madrid haven't coughed up the asking price yet, so still in Limbo.

Rafa told him to make himself available for a medical while in Spain. All players have 3 days off at the moment and he has been told to report back at Melwood if nothing has come about by the end of this break. My money is still on him going but you just never know. Thanks for the shout scanner!

not so sure Joel. I really wouldn't be surprised if he stays.

Trouble is the media are confusing everything as usual seeing they never know their ar$e from their elbow! One day we think it's all over and Xabi's signing for un-real, the next we're being told he's staying put!

Like everyone else I just want it over one way or the other! The media are just a bunch of scum bags!

Agree. I wouldn't be surprised If he goes. Im glad Torres has come out and warned liverpool not to sell him. But I can honestly say that I have the feeling Madrid will look elsewhere now for another midfielder.

Whether Torres said that to LFC or not is irrelevant as LFC don't want to sell him. It's Xabi he should be telling, not the Club.

Torres will not leave Liverpool. It will be a backstep if we lose Xabi. But no player is bigger than the club, and if he goes, so be it.

Our football has improved greatly. And it will continue as long as Xabi stays.
