Wishful thinking I suggest, especially since they were beaten on the weekend but maybe we can steal a point from them and I would take that for sure. A win would be something else and very much a huge confidence for the entire club.

Sorry Joel, whats wrong with lucas? I understand there should be a better player in the middle of the park but we dont have that option just yet. The last 2 games he and meireles has been very decent in midfield so I dont think another player should take his place. I think there is a good chance that we can win this game if we attack them from the start. Its going to be at Anfield so we must perform and get a result there. A win would give us huge momentum and possibly put us back in the title race.

Im not his biggest fan, but Lucas played well v Bolton yesterday, and deserves his place. Mereiles was cack, but I would still go with him in midfield with Stevie at the right of a three. Best we can hope for against chelsea is a solid defensive performance, there might even be a case for a 5-4-1 formation with three centre-halves - agger, the greek, and carra (skertel dropped, Johnson right back if fit) - to counter drogba who always makes mincemeat of Carra and whoever plays beside him in a two. Would play Jovanovic on left of midfield to provide some pace, with Johnson providing the width on right from full-back with Stevie pushed in ahead of him. Torres on his own up front. Change it after 70 if we're still in it. V negative, I know, but we have to be realistic.
P.S. My views on Roy haven't changed after two wins, he still has to go in my opinion, what's the general view.

I think the only way for us to play chelsea would be to play a 5 man midfield and hit them on the counter attack as they could tear us to piece's as carragher and soto would struggle to cope with the pace and power of Drogba and co.
