if the new owners sanction a £10m+ deal for forlan then we'll know they are dicks. No thanks, to old, to expensive and too crap in the premier league. Connor wickham wud be nice + a back-up striker with some pace and PL experience - someone like obafemi martins might be worth a punt.

wickham would be a good investment no doubt about it. martins is a little on the short side though isnt he. not ideal to play as a lone striker but he does have pace. i reckon if we signed a player like martins he'd just end up being converted into winger and we've been down that road before with kuyt. tbh i'd rather us sign carlton cole than sign martins and thats something

If we really want to make a marquee signing who will excite it would be Eden Hazard or Javier Pastore. Both are young and will be a future World Player.

its not choice between building a team around torres or not, its a question of style of attack.
