Personally i think it's a good idea to have some sort of philosophy in the transfer market.

From what Ive been reading NESV intend to spend wisely and are looking at money for value purchases.

To me that doesn't mean they will not sign big name players. To me it meens they are looking at younger Talent that will develop at Anfield.

Example. Signing New players under the age of 25 to long term deals.

Example. Some of the players we are getting linked to Afellay,Coentrão,Hazard,Turan,Llorente are all either 25 or under. By the end of say a 5 year deal they will still be under 30. Those type of signings represent good value.

Paying a high price tag for players such as Diego Forlan etc on a say a 3 year deal with high wages represents poor value.

Personally i would like to see Coetrao,Hazard,Turan,Llorente all signed up. I think those players would make us a force for many years to come.

we all like a good dream world in mine we buy hazard, sakho, jose angel, phil jones, jordan henderson, connor wickham and we sell babel, skrtel, soto, lucas, maxi, ngog, konchesky, aurelio, jovanovic id actually cry tears of pure joy if we got rid of that lot in january and we could get rid of spearing or paulsen, in the summer spearing might be a local lad but he is rather pooh if you ask me, and then we could have a LFC squad with no deadwood

signing any of those players or of similar stature would make a real statement of their intentions.

llorente would be a quality signing. would expect us to keep the same shape but at least have a squad we could rotate without losing a vast amount of quality like we do at the moment.

everyone knows the side is desperately calling out for a quality out and out winger thats been missed for years. the club has to sign arda simple as.

also i still think we lack a deep playmaker in the mould of alonso. ever banega fits the bill perfectly don't you think?

but to sign 2 or 3 of these players you are talking £30m+ and just can't see such radical changes happening in the transfer window

Signing younger players with an intent of them staying 4-5 years min is a great philosphy and the correct one too. Not only financially is it better, but also if you buy superstars (and try to convince yourself that they are going to play for you because of the love of the club), then you buy players who are motivated only by one thing:- money. Look at Rooney. Pure bribery on the club. Now man u are interested in di Rossi. Another superstar, who won't come for anything less than a cool 130.000 a week.

Point is younger lads come for developping their football as well as being part of a "Liverpool Way".

By the time they reach the age of 27-29 they are worth loads, so selling them is profitable, but keeping them (provided they are good enough), is priceless.

The might of Liverpool will rise again.

Totally agree with this thread, we need to buy younger players who are going to grow into stars. I'd love a new left back, sanchez and turan on the wings and suarez. I'd sign lakuka aswell he's going to be unbelievable him when he's older.

Team in the future

--------------reina

Johnson----kelly-----agger---lb

sanchez--merieles--gerrard--turan

------------torres--suarez

subs:- jones, carra, skrtel, cole, Lucas, ngog, kuyt

Sterling, suso, pacheco, wisdom, flanagan, mavinga

This can only be a good thing as there is way to much dead wood in the squad and that includes carragher.
The thing that get's me is how Roy want's these avarage 30 yr olds.
or overated english players on big contract's such as Cole,Konchesky.

Suarez is just complete [oops] class, I mean check out his goal statistics:
2005–2006 Nacional 33 (12)
2006–2007 Groningen 29 (10)
2007– Ajax 105 (81)
Suárez ended the 2009–10 season as top scorer in the league with 35 goals (49 goals in all competitions) and was named Dutch Footballer of the Year.
(TAKEN FOR WIKIPEDIA)
Problem is he said that he doesn't really want to leave the club unless Ajax actually want to sell him, and I'm pretty sure that I heard they were in some financial difficulties. Hope for the best..

It's risky, that's not a competitive league. Kuyt had a lot better stats than this 1 but still Kuyt didn't score that many in Premier league. For me, Suarez reminds me of Milan Baros. Same style of play and face expression. Purely mah opinion uhh
