I wanted to make a post about aquaman.
I read on Liverpool forums about how we wouldn't want him back etc...
In fairness he was bought injured and Rafa knew what he was getting into when buying him. Rafa also knew the price he was paying for him was a gamble. Furthermore, Liverpool supporters never got given the chance to see what this man could do.
I for one have seen a bit of him, he has great touch and very good distribution, whilst he is not the fastest his control on the ball more then makes up for it, when i look at our current squad, when fully fit, he would bit in the top 5 picked every time. Bear in mind I am currently watching some of the players Liverpool supporters rate as boss, such as Cole, and to be frank he isn't playing to what his ratings suggest.
I would like to say that Aquaman would be more then welcome in my side, and apart from Gerrard, Reina and Torres, he would be my next pick based on what I have seen him do in the past. I think a lot of Liverpool supporters are judging a player they haven't seen properly, and a player that was bought injured and not given chances, and in fairness that wasn't his issue. He could be a very good player for us given the opportunity. Admittedly, I wouldn't have paid as much as Rafa did for an injured player. But I suspect he was taking a gamble on the man because he, like me, knows what aqua can do fully fit. Its a shame you all haven't gotten to see the real aquaman.

I do agree that he is a top player but I don't think he'll be back. I think, when fit and given the chances some of the blatently less talented player have been given, he could be good for us.
Part of me thinks, though, he was only bought by Rafa as a 'if you don't give me enough money from the Alonso sale this is all I can buy' type statement to dumb and dumber.

One more of Waffa's peculiar signings if You ask me! High money and low performance combined! I don't say we knew this before the buy, but we surely know by now, right!? Sell sell sell!

ALBERTO AQUILANI - The truth about his transfer fee. How much will he REALLY cost?
There seems to be a lot of confusion over how much Liverpool paid/will eventually pay Roma for the services of Alberto Aquilani. Figures such as £20m, £17m and £5m (!) have been bandied about, but the truth is the total outlay could (potentially) turn out to be much more.
On the 8th August 2009, Roma released official details of Aquilani's transfer fee. The fee is broken down as follows:
Four cash installments:
* €5m upfront * €3m by 4th January 2010 * €7m by June 30th 2010 * €5m by June 30th 2011.
We paid £4.3 million up front for him and were also in place to sign Jovetic for £12million,and that was going to be our Alonso cover,due to the fact Alberto was injured at the time,so Rafa thought he had adequate cover,then the board pulled the Jovetic deal and we were left with an injured player to replace Alonso,and the rest of the £30 million transfer money mysteriously disappeared?

that doesn't surprise me legend.
and emp, aqua is not rubbish mate, he's a quality player but he is prone to injury, i don't think we will get him back tho but i would be more than happy to have a fully fit aqualiani in the squad. Believe it or not he's a qaulity player.
