Roy Hodgson’s reign at Liverpool looks set to come to an abrupt end as reports suggest that the 63-year-old will step down as Liverpool manager before Monday. Frank Rijkaard is the likeliest candidate to takeover from Hodgson after he was released from Galatasaray earlier this week.
It is believed that NESV were in talks with Galatasaray over the possible appointment of Rijkaard prior to his crisis talks with the Turkish side; despite the ex-Barcelona manager’s agent claiming otherwise. However, Rijkaard will take charge of one last game at the club before stepping down.
Likewise is Roy Hodgson, who will step down via mutual consent as Liverpool manager before the new week.
Sources suggest that Christain Purslow resigned as managing director earlier today because of a serious breakdown in the relationships between Roy Hodgson and several key players.
It has also been suggested that Hodgson has become completely disillusioned with new coaching methods and life in the Anfield dressing room.
While these reports are yet to be confirmed, it will be an interesting week for Liverpool fans who rule in the majority of Hodgson’s departure.
