Where does Lee fit into all this ey? Never hear anything about him. Doesn't he have any input into motivation and team selection, positions and tactics?

He does enough bursting red face ranting, but what is it actually achieving?

Even when we played badly under Rafa we always looked strong defensively. You would never really expect the opposition to get too many chances even when we played badly.

But under Roy we are nearly wondering how many chances the opposition will miss. Even when we play the best football so far this season (according to Roy.. no one else!!!))we were lucky to only let in 2.

i dont genuinely think he is happy or here for a pay off. I do however think he is out of his depth. key comments have shown us his mindset;

'i have been coaching my methods 30yrs and have had great success'

in that statement alone he identifies the problem. yes it is a good thing not to be swayed and swap and change according to what papers or fans say etc. That is what has probably given him a decent coaching career. However fundamentally he has not looked at what he has inherited and the merits of the players and systems already in place. Not all was wrong with Benitez's side, in fact most was right. A new guiding hand and subtle changes and a different manner would have been enough to lift the club.
we now have a team caught between systems and one not playing to individual strengths. Highes at Fulham has taken the strong system by Hodgson and gradually expanded their play. Their own fans admitting this is better than ever.

Sadly Hodsgon will continue in this vein of 'I am right' until the inevitable happens - he loses his job. I personally feel we will improve and get some points here and there, Sunday was a watershed and the players will react. Unfortunately the play will continue to be insipid and with new owners not yet qualified/experienced to remove Roy we will miss the oportunity to recruit a better manager and spend wisely.

I expect no more than a 20mil spend in January with 30-40mil+ sales in the summer. With no european football it could be a long road to recovery.

I know one thing, under rafa we will never have had opponents looking at us and thinking hmm Liverpool, theres 3 points.

But now were seen as the team that lets everyone play better than us.
