The more i think about it the more I think Roy was the right choice as manager.

Reasons:
1. He is the only manager that would have accepted the new owners clause in the contract, and this is exactly why other coaches wouldn't come.

2. He is now easily gotten rid of after new owners have bought the club, which would be great for us because the owners can put their own stamp of the club by having input into the coach, rather then them not being a part of it at all.

Despite being a good bloke, Roy is just not the man for the job, and I worry about him buying more players and flooding us with a fulham grade squad.

That sounds like hindsight speaking, to me. I believe that Purslow protected Kenny by not giving him this poisoned chalice, but I'm not sure they specifically decided Roy should be the man to take the fall.

Seriously I am over RH for good - he will not be here next season so why prolong the agony that we are all going through. I understand we don't know who he may have brought in with more money but then again I ain't convinced he has the 'pull' to motivate star players and I am still shaking my head on Sunday's performance by RH:
1. Team selection [oops] Maxi should be no where near the ground never mind playing for 80 mins
2. How often did we give the ball away yes I know it is the fecking players as well but the ..........Oh f u c k it here I go again I'm back off to work just wake me when wev'e replaced him!!

roy seemed to say all the right things at the beginning and now he makes dellusional comments like in the everton interview thinking that was our best performance under him. i know christian purslow was incharge of ins and outs regarding players in the transfer window but Poulsen is a player roy knew and worked with before so roy is responsible for him coming to liverpool. thats why i wouldn't wanna give roy the chance of getting his hands on a transfer fund because he would possibly buy players like Poulsen. we need a foriegn manager with a good reputation that can get us some big name signings and get the squad to play attacking football.

*i agree to an extent but 3 million is a lot of compensation for someone w ho never won anything,
I think hodgson is in it for hte money ok the appeal of the big time was there, but he would have seen that his or any managers chances of staying 6 mths were 50 50 with a new takeover on the cards, roy is milking it hanging on since the blackpool match even maybe before, lets stop this 'nice guy' thing, the guy knows how to talk to the media (at least the media like him as he gives them lots of his time), people regard him as intelligent because he is well spoken, well he talks crap. Strachan left with no compensation he tore his contract up because he was embarassed at the results. Hodgson is 'not being honest' with the fans. Fair play to him if he wants to hang on as long as possible I would do the same. But lying about performances, saying babel has three mths then not picking him (i dont like babel either), blaming 16 year old players for him picking htem against northampton pushes the boundaries of 'niceness'

Thats not necessarily true.

He spent well over 20mill on
Bran Jones, 2m
Danny Willson, 2m
Christian Poulson, 4.5m
Paul Konchesky, 4m
Raul Meireles,11.5

Whether people think that 24mill + was money well spend is another matter.

Roy also said he wasnt interesting in signing a player like Van Der Vart... yeap I can see why Roy didnt want an a extreamly talented attacking player - he has no use for them. wink
