I've been around Koptalk a long time (ty Dunk for a great site, and the posters for many great discussions) but very rarely post. But I felt I had to post tonight to make sure Christian Purslow gets the respect he's due - and some apologies, too.
I've just watched his interview on the official site
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/video/News-and...blinks_rightnavFirst - the man is clealy shattered. Secondly - he behaves exactly as I want Liverpool execs to behave: humble, professional, dedicated. No victory dance, no slagging off G&H, no complaints about his treatment by fans, although he admits it hurt. Respect.
Let's hope we can return to the Liverpool Way. Yes, I know times have changed. But, from what I've seen so far, Purslow and Henry fit the bill: professionals at home in the modern business world, but with respect for tradition and some dignity.
Purslow's taken alot of stick over his comments about spending last summer, and over Rafa. But every Liverpool fan owes him a debt of gratitude today. I'm not getting carried away. But, he's made a massive contribution towards clearing the debt which was cripppling our club, and bringing in new owners who seem professional and realistic in their committment to winning.
Thank you Christian. I fear you may have walked alone at some points over the last few months. Thanks for fighting for us. YNWA.
