Broughton said something funny the other day in his interview. He said it was never about bringing a billionaire on board. It's just about getting an owner who is steady and has enough finances to run Liverpool. So what we are talking about is a lowish player budget, let's say 15m to spend. No new stadium, and a simple low-end extension to Anfield if possible.
So it begs the question from me, do we even need foreign ownership if as Broughton said, they weren't even looking to get a billionaire on board? It seems our new yank fella has around 500m as reported in the news. Let's just say that's true right now. Why can't two British businessmen, who both LOVE the club get on-board and buy us? I'm sure there are 2 millionaires right now that could match that 500m and 'steady the ship' just as well. We'd be in better hands with people who love the club rather than someone who is promising the earth with only a simple 500m fortune and other sports ventures he needs to pump money into as well as us (like Hicks said he would take money out of Liverpool and put it in his other team) I dont want an owner with 2 lovers, one he treats poorly. IMO what we need is a british businessman (2 if needed to raise the money) who have enough to run the club and steady us in a realistic manner, who love the club and want the best for it. To hell with these foreign fakes, I dont trust any of them to do the right thing by us.
i understand your frustrations but the whole point of selling the club in the first place was to make the club even bigger. otherwise it would still be owned by david moores - ship maybe steady but not much investment - no 'super' players and no stadium.
hindsight i know, but i believe that moores really wanted to see the club grow and match/beat city, utd and chelsea. unfortuantely he found the wrong buyer.
