Said it before if we are able to add Sneijder plus 20 million, the midfield would have lost very little as he'd be an excellent foil to Masch and with something to prove.

We'd also be in the cat bird seat to land one more quality attacking player with the fee received. So the books would largely be balanced, the squad strengthen in keys areas and there would be some excitement going into the season.

Sorry Glen Johnson good as you are in your position, I just can't see that many fans rushing out to buy your shirt.

But this whole saga has got (pretty) boring who would have thought the entire off season would have been spent talking about Alonso - how unsatisfying.
