I'd rather have a playing squad which can compete on all fronts than a stadium just yet. Maybe getting someone to build it and we can pay it off over a certain amount of time is an idea? That way the new owners don't have to stump up cash for the stadium straight away

Thanks for trying to answer my question Armitage. But what I was really after, was someone with a background in business law, to simply state the 'credibal' case for Hicks dragging the matter through the courts should RBS takeover.

(Am a numptie when it comes Legal matters. So please forgive me if what I say below is totally codswhallop. I await correction if so.)

Is it simply as cut & dry (probably not) as saying Hicks has defaulted on loan, meaning bank has the authority to sell LFC at a price they deem fit. If this is 'law' & that's exactly what happens, then on what basis could he drag this whole matter through the courts?

Isn't the scenario the same as you defaulting on your morgage & the bank repossesing your house & selling it for the price they want. On what basis could you take the bank to court & have a genuine chance of winning?

Personally, I think the only 'credibal' basis he would have to take the case through the courts is if RBS sell LFC at a knockdown price, i.e. just the cost of the debt. I suppose then he could argue his case (in court) that LFC is worth more than RBS are selling it for.

But then surely, all the winning bidder needs to do to counteract this, is to pay off the amount of debt to RBS & then leave a little (!) extra 20/30 million each to Hicks & Gillett. I then don't believe they'll be a court in the land that would favour Hicks case if this scenario happened.

I'll repeat again! Is this me being naive or is there some fact to what I've just said.

We are doomed !! remember the good times

Ultra risky investment?!

A business that's making record profits (regardless of the thousands of fans boycotting official merchandise & services).

Risky investment?! I suppose that's why we have a queue of potential bidders & some of the most wealthiest people on the planet, waiting to see what move RBS make. Regardless of their wealth, they will not pay over the odds for something that's value is alot less. No one likes to be taken for a fool, rich or not.

Building up wealth doesn't mean you become stupid with it. Example, Why should the richest man on the planet pay Hicks the ridiculous valution he's set for LFC, when richest man on planet knows that if he's patient he'll buy LFC at 'actual value'?

The difference regarding home buying defaulters is that if the bank takes your house that becomes an asset even if the market is flat. IF the bank takes LFC that is not necessarily an asset. And with player wages transfers even success brings financial instablity. It's all about risk. RBS don't want to have hold of Liverpool thats why the tolerate this shitbag and will keep on delaying taking it over. The fact that on transfers/asset stripping LFC has made a few bob doesnt mean that they will be profitable in the future especailly if they ahve to pay off hodgson and get a real(and expenseive) manager in Football teams are high risk Even manchester united is risky. The fact that lfc is not losing money works in hicks favour in many ways. The bank is still making (hypothetical) money out the arrangement on debt repayements of course. Liverpool is not portsmouth so for RBS they won't lose everything there is no panic for them. Hicks knows this of course(and he knows that its us the ticket buyers or football shirts buyers who are paying his interest off. SO in a way its stalemate. Hicks is waiting for the financial markets to pick up so he can draw up some capital and buy another club or another venture. I don't think he really wants to own liverpool outright its a stalling tactic. IF the market picks up in in general he is hoping he might even make a profit out of it. In brief the current situation while not suiting RBS doesnt seem to be harming it too much. RBS is now majority state owned so I imagine they don't want the added risk of a football club. The onus is on broughton to find a buyer. Lets hope he does it

Yes and this is far more important for the future of the club than the current situation in the Premiership at the moment. That can be sorted with some investment on the pitch, if the Americans stay in charge I fear we may not have a future.

if they are rumours in the press it normally means it wont happen! No news is good news and i would rather not hear about 'potential' buyers. i just want it to happen. bad times at the moment to be a liverpool fan.

One thing is for sure though, that helmet broughton who was appointed in April to find a potential buyer for the club should be well and truely sacked by now! What has he done? Nothing! 6 months has passed mate and you have done nothing to help with the sale of the club so f*ck off back to chelsea!

Don't underestimate him!

That way you won't be shocked at what he attempts next & will have prepared to counteract against it.

That's my mantra regarding him anyway.

Of all the clubs in all the world, why did Hicks have to walk into ours? (And yes, I curse the two '$hit at their job' 'LIVERPOOL FANS' responsible, every night before bed.)
