Is Aurelio fit yet ?
We are pretty predictable so i see Roy resting Carragher, Gerrard, Kuyt, Torres and maybe Joe Cole however we should be having a stabled atmosphere and going for the three points, unfortunately we never escape any of Poulsen, Lucas & Maxi
Shelvey and Pacheco should be in, maybe Babel too

Roy has said he might play the likes of Torres, Kuyt, Raul and Cole.

I can see him fielded a relatively strong side, I think if they dont start then the so called big guns will be on the bench. Could be something like this:

Johnson Carra Skrtel Agger
Poulsen Lucas
Kuyt Raul Cole
Ngog

Torres and Gerrard will be on the bench. Maybe Spearing will start instead of Poulsen or Lucas.

I think your right there whiskey. Hodgson might be afraid that a similar team to last wed's would not get the results he craves so he might start with our regulars. Its the Europa league tho and its still early so i would start with our young lads once again with maybe Cole and Kuyt to get some games behind his belt again after the injury, It is also his former team so he may get a bow.

guys, why on earth would Roy not want to keep the same team. I mean we are but 6 prem games into the new season. ?!?!?

We must gel - and we are not playing game in midweek next week - so it will be time to get fresh before Everton's game.
And it will be good for the team spirit if we play 3 games in best XI - and hopefully - get better and beter.

Exactly, sometimes i understand you want to give the younger lads a run, but you can break a select few into the first team by bringing them in 1 at a time. For example, Kelly at home to a lesser team. But when your first team hasn't gelled and no-one needs resting but needs games to start klicking (like Nando for example), then why on earth rotate the whole friggin team. lol

Think we can agree that the squad we have (at least in my humble opinion), is worthy of 4th if it klicks. Just hope Roy plays them all game after game.

No argument whatsoever - we don't need any slips in this comp and more to the point we need to get some consistency and confidence with our first eleven. I would like to see Shelvey 'introduced' if the game is going well for us for last 20-30 mins.

Play a weakend team with the likes of Gerrard and Torres on the bench if we need them. We're at the end of September and there's no reason why players need resting as long as their not smoking 40 a day and drinking 8 pints a night.

The league cup would have been a fantastic opportuniuty for Roy to have won silverware by Febuary and give himself, the board, the players and the fans some confidence and restored some of the feel good factor. when you also consider that most teams treat this competion like a reserve cup it was a competion we could have easliy won.

Whats gone is gone, but now i'm glad that Roy started thinking right, i think it might go like this, COME ON PUT US ON THE RIGHT WAY BACK
