1) We will never win any games with Lucas and Poulsen in the middle. We have zero creativity from both of them and they make us the most boring midfield in the league. Before Lucas went off, we could hardly smell their penalty box, never mind the goal.

2) I know some might disagree but we miss Kuyt. He's 100 times better than the non-existent maxi.

3) Meireles must start. He was 100 times more positive than lucas in his 19 min on the pitch. We started to take control of the game after he came on. (not because of him but because the way the entire team played changed)

4) Pepe is the best keeper in the world. Period.

5) Roy is tactically naive and should have changed the game much earlier. If we had started with Meireles and not lucas/poulsen, we probably would have nicked the game.

it wasn't meireles who made us positive it was gerrard. meireles looked a bit lost from what i seen. gerrards best position is cm he so effective the only reason we got away with playing him behind torres for a season or 2. is because we had alonso who could ping the ball around as well as gerrard. that was our downfall last seasons and now that alonso has gone gerrard needs to go back in cm which should have happened last season.

Meireles can ping the ball too from the middle of the park. That's what he does for portugal.

I going to take the positives from the game because the negatives are numerous and there are plenty of people on here already indulging in it.

1. Konch was good, in my opinion very good.

2. Raul was good when he came on and I think him and gerrard will forge a great partnership.

3. Lucas will never start again, that is reason enough to rejoice in itself.

4. Joe Cole will be back next week, hopefully he will be a bit more relaxed now.

5. Despite being absoulutely crap we somehow got away with a point. Spuds and Citeh will prob walk away with nothing.

I'd play johnson in midfield,he's too poor at defending to be a decent rightback.Thought he looked more like whoopi goldberg than a football player!Get that bloody hair cut.Our midfield should be :-johnson--gerrard--meireles--jovanovic.Play kelly or darby at rightback.Poor performance,decent point.Gonna take a while to change the negitive system too.

weve looked poor in all the games played so far this season even against wba we were lucky to win if this doesnt change an roy stops being negative playing the two worst midfielders in the prem then forget top 6. i just hope raul plays more in the prem games than the europa as he impresed when he came on.

I dont understand why everyone is questioning if Raul will play. Give me 1 good reason why Roy would start Lucas ahead him. The team I want to see against the Mancs is one of two:

Spot on there Rory about gerrard, couldnt agree more!! but i thought Meireles tried to be positive when he came on, a point today was not such a bad result even tho the performance was awful(except Reina), we seem to be too slow in our play and too predictable as usual, and if i'm honest i cant see it changing much too soon either, until we get some quality wingers who will give us width and pace!
