You don't haVe to go on the tour to learn about us. There's the Internet, books, videos, dvds. I think it's just poor that a season ticket holder who attends the match doesn't no about something they should do.
Also, as for traditions. I'm not saying bring the boot room back, that's been and gone, but we should keep to the values the club strived for when shankly was in charge and behave in a way that shows class, unlike the likes of Chelsea ands man city

The boot room was is an actual room in at anfield were Shankly, paisley etc sat and pre match and discussed tactics and invited there oppnents staff in before a game.. its were paisely, fagan, Roy Evans, Sammy Lee etc came from really, they were taught in that room and it was a tradition that worked... Houllier stopped it when he took over. It was Souness who dismantled the bootroom. Houllier actually tried to re install the old Liverpool values when he took over. Thats one of the main reasons that he took Thompson on as his number two. Houllier fell in love with Liverpool when he was teaching in England, he used to stand on the Kop.

I stand corrected, i thought it was Houllier as he brought in the foreign ideas and a different approach. Carlos... ive never heard a Liverpool (SUPPORTER), say they don't care about the clubs history. We need to look forward not backwards all the time, but for all the crap Red4life recieved over his posts, you have just proven him right. Its simple really, you dont care because you dont understand what are club stands for. You should go be a chelsea fan lad, coz they aint got no history so it won't matter.

I agree we need to look forward and not to the past but we shouldn't just forget and we need to strive to become again what we where in the glory years

being from essex, I obviously dont know the history as well as a born and bread scouser. Also, I was born too late to witness and be a part of the 70's when we were winning everything. I was born in 81 so my earleist memories were of barnes, beardsley rush, dalgliesh, aldridge, etc etc. Im just a fan who loves liverpool and if it wasnt for the history (which i missed) the club wouldnt be where it is today.
Unfortunately, football clubs are now businesses and therefore a lot of tradition gets thrown out of the window. Teams like chelsea have no history or tradition. Im proud to be a 'plastic' scouser and will never change team! (despite all my west ham mates calling me names and bullying me). YNWA

Ye im only 22 mate so i wasn't around to witness the glory days, wish i had been. I know the history tho because of my older relatives explaining and genrealy watchin us play on video/dvd. I still learn things i didnt know now.
Its one thing not knowing and asking about it, its another to say "i couldnt care less about the history".

agreed dingo. my cousin gave me his liverpool dressing gown when i was little. although it stunk to high heaven, and was 14 times too big for me, that sort of made me a liverpool fan and he used to drum into me how good sounness and the gang were!
also agree that you need to know the history! even just a little bit. if you dont care about the history of the club you allegedly 'support' then its hard to call yourself a supporter!
