If the club is available for a knockdown price of 150m wont that allow the less wealthy to get involved in bidding and that could lead us down the road of a little trouble.

Hopefully the checks on potential new owners will be more thorough than last time.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Its one thing to complete the sale of the club, but paying for its upkeep, transfers, developments etc is another thing.

Hopefully the checks will sift through dreamers and narrow things down to the genuine bids.

This subject should be left on the backburner. You won't hear anything because of confidentiality agreements both ways between potential bidders & LFC.

No bids are not going to be made until after October 6 & whatever decision RBS make. You won't get any unwanted bidders throwing their hats into the ring as they will still need to be able to prove they can build a new stadium. As regards a £150m price I cannot see this being the case as RBS will want to cover their debt if they take the club off the americans. Any excess they get they can give to the americans.

totally agree scannerman, RBS will get at least the sum of the debt back for the club, potentially getting more, but as a repossessed asset I believe the money has to go back into the asset unless otherwise arranged. The 150 mill price tag is false. As for bidders, would you pay 500 mill when in a month you can pick it up for 300? With no risk of damaging the asset (9 point deduction, transfer window closed etc.) No you wouldn't. So once again, completely agree scanner, this won't be sorted or even get itself on the track till rbs play their hand.

Nice to know Christian Purslow has got finger on the pulse!

Purslow's date clash

Christian Purslow, the Liverpool chief executive, has withdrawn from an appearance at the Leaders in Football conference after Digger informed him of a rather important diary clash. Purslow was at the top of the list of delegates due to attend the conference in a recent marketing circular by
the conference organisers. But the conference is taking place on 6 and 7 October, meaning it opens on the date Liverpool's refinancing with Royal Bank of Scotland is due.

The likeliest outcome in that process is that the club will be taken over by RBS's corporate-restructuring team, or that it will receive a fresh approach from one of the bidders. Either way, Purslow is likely to be required: his vote in board meetings at that time would be crucial to dictating terms to the current owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

When Digger informed Purslow that the conference, to which his secretary had informally committed him without running it past him, clashed with the refinancing, he immediately pulled out.
