Wake up red,if we had sold him how much of his fee would we have seen.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

He uselessness in the World Cup did us a favour, if he had played like he's starting to play now City would have burst the bank to get him. He's an awesome player lad, potentially the best we've ever had, why would you want to sell him?

What you need to pray for is a new owner so we can keep him, not talk about selling him, and as was pointed out, if you do sell, the manager certainly won't see much of the transfer fee.

Put it another way, if we didn't have him, who is the one player we'd love to sign, money no object?

There is no point having a Ferrari if it's always in the gararge and am afraid that applies to Torres, the man is just constantly injured and since he has been at the Club he has played less and less games each season, FACT. The second point I would like to make is whats the point in having a so called star striker if you never have the money to have the players to go with him. I think Everton where in a similar position a few years ago with Rooney, they had a superstar talent with no money to strenghthen, they were finishing 14th and 15th every season with him in the team, suddenly a big offer came in which they accepted and they spent the money wisely on three or four players which in turn made the team a better and much stronger all round one, the toffs then went from about 14th to a top 8 team, they speculated to accumilate and just as long as we get the money I happen to think this is the best way to go for a team in our position. This only applies if the money we get for him in the Summer goes directly to Roy, we need to gamble now otherwise we could stop being a top 6 side.

I have just read the last comment & I cannot believe in this day & age that people would rather have the money than potentially the best player on the planet.

What is the point of money regardless of what use it is put to. It cannot score 20 plus league goals a season, which Torres will do this season. It cannot score match winning goals which Torres will do plenty of times this eason. It doesn't have the potential to score cup final winning goals which Torres will do this season.

Above all it cannot put the big smile on your face like Torres did last Sunday.

Red you need to take a long hard look at yourself & decide if you support LFC or LFC's bank balance/transfer funds.

your asking the wrong questions so let me ask you a few, whats the point having the so called best striker on the plannet if he is always sitting next to you or me in the stands for most of the season, he could be Pele or Maradonna if he is not on the pitch playing there is absolutely no point in having him. Also I dont know where your getting the potentialy the best player on the plannet from he has one really good season for us which was his first after that he has got worse and worse mostly through injuries which backs up my point about not worth having any player if you cant rely on him, he's unfortunately a crock and we have had enough of those types of players over the years. We need to cash in while we can still get a decent fee that we can use to buy two new fit and reliable forwards, it has nothing to do with bank balances i just want whats best on the pitch and a crocked striker is'nt one of them options.

Re4life - you sort of have a point however we have not reached that stage just yet. I can see you are remebering the Owen and Kewell situations where talent was not a question but time on the pitch was limited. Look at it another way Torres is also a big attraction for signing other top players, Cole mentioned this. Torres has averaged 75% appearances until last season(60% i think)so if this season is stop/start again your point may be valid. One thing in your favour is that LFC best times have come on the back of selling a great player. Keegan - Dalglish and Mcdermott bought. Souness - Mcmahon, Molby bought. Rush - Aldridge, Barnes, Beardsley, Houghton bought.

I am not doubting the lads ability my point is based purely and simply that the man is a crock and is getting worse each season. What you have to ask yourself is can a club in our position afford the luxury of a player like Torres who will play in just half of all your fixtures over a season or do you cut your losses, get as really good pay out for him and invest the money in maybe two forwards who will play for you nearly every game this season and contribute maybe 40-45 goals a season instead of a half fit Torres who will score you maybe 25 depending on games on his own with no partner because we cant afford one. Sorry it's a no brainer for me. Sell Torres while we can still get a good price for him because when he has another injury plagued one like last, we will lose absolutely millions on him when he leaves next summer anyway.

I would love to know what this pic is about. Torres is the most smug looking fecker I ever seen in this pic. Sat up, arms crossed and his face is like, "f*cking told you didnt I"
