May as well start this thread:
From an irish perspective we had a very promising performance on Friday, although i do worry about our inability to put those chances away, and it always seems to be robbie keane missin chances.anyway, andorra tonight, so we should be winning that by two or three.

fair enough, yea it must be frustrating. i never really understood what the glich in the system is for england. plenty of talent there but they cant seem to find a manager to light the touch paper. With that said, the england fans/ media are ruthless. there is a huge expectation there. im just desperate for ireland to qualify, just for something to cheer about. god knows when we qualified for the 1990 WC it got us out of the LAST recession. but that all started of course with our first proper qualification which was Euro '88 in Stutgart. hopefully 2012 will be the next catalyst.

England got of to a good start but I would expect us to qualify quite easily, as always though it will be about how we perform at the tournament in 2012 and to date we've not been great in tournaments.
Hopefully we wont see Lamps, Terry and Rio return. Simply because they wont be around at the Euros, or if they are then we're bolloxed because we'll be fielding a team of grandads!

Im English but I live in Ireland so I would like to see Ireland qualify because you guys dont half get excited about it.
I think you'll get through safely enough, though if you dont put 2 or 3 past Andorra then Johnny giles, eamon dunphy and co will have a field day with their ultra negativity!

trapp came in and weilded the axe a bit at ireland, brought in some newbies. seems to be paying off. its a difficult decision but you have to build for the future. it must be tought being an international footballer. most dont see too many tournaments anyway, and then if you pick up an injury right before a WC it must be devestating.
with england there is always that global fear that they will find their feet and be unstoppable. once they get some momentum and the fans get onside they can be pretty impressive. they need a manager that will get some honest humble graft out of them though. too many ego's.

I would rather watch Ireland play..
I just feel when i watch England there just like a load of over paid idiots who really cant be arsed and would rather be at home.
Exceptions to it, would be Stevie, Scholes when he played had passion aswell, as much as i dont like him JT has abit of heart sometimes. Like you said tho Flames, all that talent? on paper surely we should be one of the better teams in the world you would think. Every tournament England are built up to be something there not, its not just down to the manager, its the players who dont really play that well together.
Theres always an excuse with England aswell, the truth is there just sh*t.

Not so much global but definitely an Irish fear, Im not sure what it is but you guys seem to think we did something to you in the past I think Trap has been outstanding for you especially after the fiasco of Steve Staunton, that guy was a frigging joke. Ego's are definitely an issue for us to much labeling the "golden generation" and not enough playing Yep top teams through and 2nd goes to play off. Russia and croatia wernt what they were, especially Russia now they have lost Hiddink.

ha ha, give us back our land. actually, you can keep it. we can barely manage what we have. i think their is a lack of unity bt fans, media and players in england. all the past promise that wasnt fulfilled seems to make every england tournament participation proceed with an air of "oh yea, here we go again". but like i said, if they get it right,m everyone else is bolxd. trap has done a great job. bit defensive at times but every manager has a style. we were painfully close to WC qualification, and thats impressive for his first tenure. like you say, especially after the staunton debacle. wtf was that all about.
