Liverpool To Accept €35m For Xabi Alonso - Report
The Reds are believed to be considering a lower fee for the Spanish midfielder...

Xabi Alonso is reportedly Real Madrid's number one transfer target to strengthen the centre of the midfield, but the Spanish club and Liverpool have so far been unable to settle on a sum for his services.

Negotiations between the two clubs for Xabi Alonso are currently in an impasse after Liverpool requested €47 million for the midfielder they signed in 2004 from Real Sociedad.

But with 'Los Blancos' uninterested in going beyond the €27m mark, they have reportedly turned their attention to other targets, such as Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas, who is also being followed by Barcelona.

According to AS, Liverpool have told Real Madrid Xabi Alonso will now be allowed to leave for €35 million, a figure the Spanish giants are reportedly refusing to pay after being 'insulted' by the midfielder's initial price-tag.

Meanwhile, news daily Marca reports that Xabi Alonso himself called Liverpool coach Rafa Benítez on Friday to ask him to be allowed to sign for Real Madrid, just one day after the Spanish tactician publicly criticized both Xabi's and Javier Mascherano's lack of commitment to the club.

it´s a shame to loose such a good player like Alonso
one of the best last season
but if he wants away, i say let him go.... if the price is right

This is just another one of all crapy storys that media comes up with regarding the Alonso situation...There's absolutely no chance that we from one day to another change the price from 47m euro to 35...

I dont say that Alonso will stay for sure, but if he will go it will for sure cost them more than 35m euro...But at the moment it looks like Alonso will stay because Real have turned their attention towards D'agostino from Udinese. This is confirmed by Udinese...

If liverpool let alonso leave its a utter disgrace , a real let down by the club and the management , what the player benitez is looking at to replace alonso , not only the one and only Lee Cattermole from wigan , yes good dogged premier league clogger but sell alonso and buy cattermole well i rest my case you honour selling alonso is a crime on its own but lee cattermole to replace him , give us the treble now frown crazy , i listened to rafa benitez on radio merseyside he said he had one more english player lined up well theres your answer the great xabi alonso out , lee cattermole in .

He collects defensive midfielders, the man spent nearly 20 million pound on the Argentine David Batty so nobody should be suprised, the man is capable of anything.

no need to worry about this news
'AS' is obviously know as Real Madrid media tools

We already have a good playing system which play as a team, not a one man team. If Alonso goes, I think the amount that we get will be enough to find good or even better player(s).

Ha Ha I just bought an idea from someone in other topic that 'gedthered09' and 'emperor rafa' are the same guy.

If not, they might be separate twins, The Pessimistic Brothers.
