I know he wasnt everyones favourite player but would you have had him back here at the same price as he went to stoke?

I actually liked him and he can go round players and get the ball over. He is an out and out winger which we need and would have done a pretty good job.

I would love him back because we lack wingers who can create things for Torres and if anyone watches 06-07 matches, you will see that he had a part in pretty much every goal someone scored. Yes he was very lazy in training but was always committed in matches and his rebellious attitude is what Rafa didnt like and he wrongly stopped playing him and drove him out of the club just for that reason and not because of his ability. He would've been perfect for us in the short-term due to our current situation.

always liked him he never got the chance, in the champsleague final 2007 he was man of the match , he wasnt the best crosser but is no worse than lennon or swp hes the same type of player he can offer something different to kuyt and maxi hes got pace.

I liked him. Bloody hard worker on the pitch, but a rebel. Rafa didn't like rebels, just 'yes men'.

Not the best in the world but at least he was a natural winger type who could go past someone and whip in a cross better than Kuyt, was man of the Match in the final in Athens too...

shame about pennant had ability played well in a few big games especially Athens toss up between him and Alonso for M.O.M. in that game , but unlike Xabi the lad had a terrible attitude .
