like some of the positive stuff on here but this is a place where people can share there opinions and they can say what they like and shouldn't be slated for doing so as long as they do it in such away that they explain there self....

25M is alot... That can buy Ibrahimovic at the moment. I think Andy Carroll is doing well right now.. 2-3 years he might be an england first.

Luis Fabiano is good and all but do you really think Torres would work alongside Fabiano? Also, I don't see Luis Fabiano leaving Sevilla.

torres is earning more than i do in 5 years in 1 week mate he can [oops] learn to play with him if he is good enough lol

good point but i think gerrard's overall passing is his strongest point he can pick people out from anywhere on the pitch on his day. if we hadn't of signed raul mereleis i would have expected him to play CM more this season. we have missed a deep playmaker to start the attack on going forward and on the counter since alonso's departure.

personally i think he would be wasted out wide. he didn't perform well out wide for england and its the wrong time in his career to play there. in his advancing years you would expect him to feature in the middle of the park its natural. in an england side you would pick gerrard over cole to play centre forward any day same goes for liverpool imo.

i know joe cole seems to think he's going to feature there all season but i don't really see the logic in it to be honest especially with a fully fit squad. can't really work out why that idea has came about because he has featured out wide for most of his career. at least we have the option to draft him in there if we have any injuries though.

imo benayoun was a more naturally central player who featured out wide so theres no reason why it won't work for joe cole too.

gerrard doesn't do the necessary donkey work to play deeper anymore - he has gotten lazy and games pass him by ..... lucas was facing 3 players on his own everytime city attacked, unless gerrard can be reminded of his responsibility to the team and get him to do the stuff that doesn't bring glory, then he can't be trusted in central midfield

see your point trepie, only thing is we fielded an unexpected 4-4-2 against city (who fielded 4-3-3) so it was always going to be a hard task, lucas was out numbered but gerrard had to support the attack too, he was the only player who looked remotely dangerous when he got forward.

if you think he's getting lazy do you think the wing is the best place for him? we need hard working wingers, fluidity in our side is essential especially with attacking full backs such as johnson. thought jovanovic provided poor cover defensively against city too.

paul scholes seems to enjoying himself in the CM position at the moment everyone has been raving on about him so far this season (player of the year already decided, what you reckon? *rolls eyes* lol)

just my opinion but i feel once we get going our 1st choice team will feature poulsen and raul mereleis at CM (2 players that should compliment each other well) gerrard at CF and cole out wide. that way we can utilise all of our quality and play to our strengths

i can see what you mean ..... it may be time for gerrard to play less games - his pace and power does look to be on the wane
