Chelsea turn to Begiristain in a bid to emulate Barcelona
As a consequence of Roman Abramovic`s enthusiasm and admiration for FC Barcelona, the Chelsea owner has approached the Spanish club`s former sporting director, Txiqui Bergiristain, in a bid to emulate their unparalleled success in producing home-grown talent. Begiristain has received an offer from Chelsea that anyone in his position would find very difficult to turn down and it is understood that he is likely to be installed as director of football at Stamford Bridge in January.
