is on his way to Spurs for 8 million in a deal that took only hours, for a player of his quality going for that price why the hell were we not interested???

We don't have 8million and we are not in champions league so he probably would'nt come to us anyway.free transfers,swap deals and loans are our limit for the forseeable future so we need to get real.we are now a selling club.

we dont need him meireles,lucas,gerrard,paulsen,shelvey,spearing,cole and pacheco can all play in the 2 positions VDV can play although he is better then most of those players but we still dont need him

It was very short notice from what i understand tho, and he will have chosen the club with CL football. What Aleksander Hleb said was intresting tho, apparently we were interested in signing him but Birmingham "tried that little bit harder"

we chose to pick up cole on a free - no point worrying about hleb and vdv who play in similar positions, the choice was made early ..... i wish people would stop whinging about the transfer market for no good reason - missing out on a striker was the only problem

Liverpool are currently working with the PL at looking into signing Van Der Varte from Real Madrid on a 5month Loan which in January they will have the option of buyin the player for £8.5M. . . the deal with spurs was not done in time which liverpool had the heads up on and steped up the efforts before spurs cud try and do the same! Real wud prefer to send the player to Liverpool with the links in the past and no it cud form a better relationship for the future if Gerrard decides that at the end of the season he wants to move on if the owner situation doesn't come to what he was promised!
has come from a very reliable sourse within Anfield and if all goes to plan he will be at Anfield this Evening to have a medical
