Reading the papers this morning, I see Rafa has blown a gasket ranting about Mr wil he /won't he 2008/9.

I sincerly hope his comments don't come back and bite him on the arse.

Have to agree with him though. Michael Owen Mk 2.

the press just love having a pop at Rafa. his calm and calculated dig at fergus was claimed a "RANT" - reading that you'd have though of Rafa doing a keegan! Great reporting as usual.

Now he has told the TRUTH about the crazy money involved in the game and that barry chose city for money over Liverpool - well let's face it, why on earth did barry go there instead of joining us?

People are slagging Rafa off now for being a hypocrite as he has just spent £17m for Johnson and only a right back!!! shock horror! Well it wasn't quite that much as you have to discount the money Portsmouth still owed on Crouchie... but how can someone be a hypocrite for having to pay over the odds in today's market.

The point Rafa made is that the transfer market has gone crazy and he's 100% correct but obviously he has to spend over the odds if that's what the market dictates!!!

he was asked why barry chose to join city and he answered the question ..... i don't see what the big deal is??

He always just brings things up, he brought Ferguson and United up when we were'nt even playing them for about two and half months. He said last summer before the season started he was'nt interested in talking about his contract because he was happy with the Club, His wife was happy and his family were happy and he would open contract negotiations at the end of the season, next thing that happens is we are top of the league, qualified for the next round of the Champions league before xmas and the Spaniard's position is as strong as it has been in his time at the club and he decides he now wants his contract sorted out before xmas, just because he knows he has a better chance of getting his demands, like Parry out. The man is premeditated and knows how to manipulate situations for his own means, he orchastrated a move away from Valencia where he made it look like it was the clubs fault, he's very clever at using the media to his own advantage. This Barry outburst is nothing new, clever people know that Benitez is starting to get his excuses in early for next season if we fail to win the league and is using the old money trick and how we are paupers in comparason to others so that when he does fail next season nobody will blame Benitez they will just say he never got the money City, United and Chelsea have spent, fans need to see through this man's hidden agenda.

Told you he is getting his excuses for next season in early, the man is very clever and likes to deflect the blame away from himself.

Correct, Barry boy owes us diddly squat, and that will continue now thank goodness.
As for the money, well yes, you and I and probably most in here are on or near the average wage, so an increase will always come in handy to help pay the water bill and for a few more Asda smart price crusts and luxurious margarine to put on the table.
These petulant greedy proffesionals however are already on an eye wateringingly obscene wage, so why the hell another 10/20 THOUSAND pounds a week should make so much difference, heaven only knows.
Don't come back with the old chestnut either, that their working life is substantially shorter than ours. They earn in a WEEK what most of us slave and sweat our [oops] off for in 5 bloody YEARS!!!
We owe them nothing truth be known, never mind the other way 'round. Simples really
