Quality signing, this is more like the calibre of player we should be signing, the lads 27 aswell, in his prime.

I say to everyone on this site, keep an open mind about players coming to Liverpool, yes he's done well for Porto and Portugal at the world cup but how many players come to Liverpool and can't cut it over here with us. That's why I always keep an open mind about new players that come to liverpool, i make my judgements once they've played in the red shirt. Look at j cole everyone was expecting all the world from him and so far what has he done?

i tink for j cole its been hard in some games hes played in when the midfield has lucas and poulson in ie europa games he seems to have a good link up with gerrard lets just hope he weighs in with some goals.

I don't think its fair to criticise Joe Cole yet, the jury's out though but everyone needs a fair crack of the whip. Lets face it who's had a good game yet? Its a new manager with new ideas, new formation (or old for 4-4-2) no zonal marking anymore for one thing. It's going to take time to gel. I reckon by October we can start to criticise if players haven't settled

If his goals are anything to go by this guy looks a very decent player...
