I know most fans are gonna have a different opinion of him. but i think his doing a brilliant job.

His cleared out some deadwood. His Promoted Some youngesters in Pacheco,Kelly. The players that his signed actually look up for the Premier league. Joe Cole- Experienced. Christian Poulsen Physically Strong,good passer, Milan Jovanovic Physically Strong,Composed on the ball.

Now his signing Paul.K another Physically solid premier league player with experience.

His building a Physically strong squad rather then signing weak players with skill. He knows what it takes to be successful in this league and his doing it.


Now the likes of Dalle Valle leaving on loan to Fulham ( Which hopefully he will get alot of experience in the first team. Ayala on loan to Hull. Thats what we need to be doing. Sending these kids out to premier league or Division 1 clubs getting them battle harded. There's no point them running around in the reserve league.

Lets face it its going to take some to put things right. If Roy can get us back in the Champions League then he will have done a briiliant job. In the meantime we need patience and we must back him to the hilt.

You forgot to mention how good Roy is at motivating the team. Kept Gerrard and Torres? Check. Signed a champions' league quality player on a free? Check. Showed signs of beating Arsenal with 10 men? Check. Gave an under-strength side the faith to go to Turkey and try to win, and gave them the encouragement/boot up the rear they needed to overturn a goal and a partisan crowd? Check.

Not sure any of our last three managers could have done any of that. Hell, even Mancini with his unlimited budget couldn't. I had my doubts about Roy, but I'm gradually warming to him.

Roy is a proper manager. Or talented Youngster should of always been loaned to Premier league clubs when possible. Look at the likes of Inter Milan. Most of there Youngsters are loaned out.

What i like is other then having the backing of the players with his man management skills, I like the type of player his looking to sign.

Cole,Poulsen,Wilson,Konchesky,Jones all players that are up for the physical demand off the Premier league. Meirelas,Ola.T,Inler none are strangers to the bang and crash contact of football.

Also rather then just looking at one country Benitez -Spain Houllier - France. Roy looks everywhere for talent.

Roy is doing the best he can with what he has and what he can afford, we can't ask anymore than that. I believe in him 100%, just need to remeber Rome was not built in a day, were currently at the stage of a major re-structure of the club as we all know and he's going in the right direction in my opnion. This is my 1st post by the way, hello all.

i just got back from rome yesterday. youre right. it took them ages. the local stadium needs work but they have a nice church.
