Before any calls for this thread to get merged/moved here there and everywhere, this isn't a compare the money going out and coming in because we all know there is a large deficit with respect to that. This is about the quality coming in and going out. I've listed some of the bigger names that have been involved in Liverpool's 2010 transfer window. Just wondering, looking at this who thinks we have moved forward? Who thinks we have moved back? And who thinks we have the same quality as last year when we finished seventh?

At the moment Cole hasn't showed that much to be honest, for me Yossi was far more effective coming off the bench or starting. Riera to me is far better the Jcvanovic on the left, its a shame that incident happened and he had to move on, however Jovanovic's favourite possession is a striker so maybe thats why he is less effective? Poulsen for Masch to me is an exact swap, same attitude, same style of play, same [oops], yea you get the picture. I would of kept Aqua for another season to improve and i was actually suprised they loaned him out considering he was injured last season but alot of people might disagree with that. Danny Wilson is a great addition to the squad but I don't see him being used that much to be honest. We have Carra,Agger,Skrtl,Greek,Ayala in the CB position so basically I dont see him taking the position ahead of those guys. The big question is have we moved forward, backward or the same? I'd hope that we have moved forward ofcourse Yossi and Riera had problems off the pitch, Aqua is very injury prone and Masch, well thats a different story. I think we made positive signings, fresh faces to bring in new ideas so with 1 or 2 more signings, i would say we have moved forward but not by much.

what does Jovanivic do with his favourite striker?

i think weve gone backwards i agree that if a player doesnt want to stay then sell him on but the quality of player we have brought in this season so far isnt any better.what we need to sign is quality pacey attacking players for both wings and strikers kuyt and jovanavic havent got any pace and we have nothing on the bench to change a game, i also think we should sign a top central midfielder if you go back 2 years we had alonso and mash now we have lucas and poulson and i think both offer nothing in going forward or creating something and we need a left back and the guy from fulham should stay where he is hes not a liverpool player.

i dont think we have gone backwards because we have a much better premier league manager and for this season at least all we should care about is the premier league i think gerrard and paulsen will become a nice partnership in CM cole will be a top player for us as soon as he calms down and settles in we do still need a natural wide player and hopefully this sports science team we have now can keep nando fit ...we need some more rose tinted glasses around here
