Would anyone still be interested in Barry? I know I would like to see him signed. Obviously I don't want to see Alonso sold but I still see him leaving at some point, even though he says he doesn't want out.

If it came down to it I'd rather have Alonso, I just want to be clear about that. But Barry can be one of our English players and he is versatile.

I would love to have Barry at liverpool. He offers more options to the side as centre midfield (holding or attacking) and on the left hand side (defender or midfield)

Alonso has been great this season but he seems to be useful and more effective in the holding role...

I think Barry offers the following more than Alonso:
- Pass on the ball quicker, unlike Alonso which is slower
- Get into the box very often to crosses, unlike Alonso
- Better on set pieces

In a perfect world, i would have kept both, but if i had a choice, it would be Barry...

I'm sure a lot of you won't agree with me, but lets agree to disagree...

Thats what will be great with Barry, you can play him in any position i mentioned above, but definitely in left defence as last resort...

Left back position is the only one that we really need to sort apart from the wings so I can't really see any point in splashing that much cash on him.

Insua!

With only 1 year remaining in his contract, his value will surely be reduced...

I just hope Villa doesn't break into the top four because this will mean Barry with sign a new contract...

i dont want barry - we dont need him .... we have 3 better centre midfielders already, riera is a better left winger and insua is a class above him as a left back

Agree with you on Reira and Insua, our left side looks really promising with these two, and if you add a fit Aurelio who can play in both midfield and defense, lovely...

However, i still believe Barry will give us more options, but lets wait and see what will happen...
