Still think it's too harsh on a player that's barely passed his teenage years. If we get a good offer for him, then ok maybe it's good to sell. But if we get pittance, then I would rather keep and develop him as a player.

Remember when we first broke through the 1st team? Everyone was raving about how mature he played and his runs down the wings. Now we get people slaughtering him left right center. I think he's a victim of his own success and has played one too many games. All he needs to develop is a good sense of positioning and man-marking IMO before he turns out to be a really good LB.

sort of my point really. The modern fan wants instant success and fails to see that a player has to develop, lad is 21. Hansen was terrible in his first season and a half. Carragher was slated until he was 24 for 'not being good enough'. Grobelaar dropped everything and was considered a laughing stock.

small mindedness and a demand for everything now is a big problem today at all clubs.

i think insua is rubbish. he's had two seasons to make an impression. he played alot of games last year cos that's what dependable players do. but they do it well consistently. the number of errors, the number of times he was skinned by opposing players was scandalous. its not even a matter of being out of position (or managerial tactics). its a matter of being 1 on 1 with somebody and them strolling past him. he hasn't got the ability to play for a club of our stature. i think 5m was a great fee to get for him for fiorentina. we weren't selling him for pittance. he wasn't sold cos his wage demands were too high.
